CETE Mission
Driven by research-based practices, CETE designs and provides effective, quality products, services, and leadership that promote workforce development, embrace the need for lifelong learning, and provide avenues to address complex issues affecting individuals, families, schools, communities, and organizations. It is a center of excellence that identifies and synthesizes existing information, expertise, and experience, creates new information and expertise, and applies those to workforce development and education issues.
CETE leads institutional efforts to:
- Build educational leadership capacity across communities;
- Nurture partnerships and collaborations through diverse networks; and
- Assist organizations in building capacity to meet the demands of a global economy.
In those efforts, CETE:
- Facilitates the development of instructional programs;
- Leads to program improvements in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and learner achievement;
- Promotes professional educator preparation;
- Supports and expands innovative nontraditional educational and career pathways; and
- Prepares individuals for employment in occupations that lead to self-sufficiency.
CETE’s work significantly and positively impacts individuals, families, schools, and consumers within our global communities through outcomes such as:
- High quality instructional programs;
- Retention of career technical teachers in correctional settings;
- Increased opportunities for high quality education for learners;
- Improved curriculum, instruction, and student achievement in middle and high schools, as well as in postsecondary and adult education;
- Enhanced workers’ skills and productivity; and
- Increased profitability of companies and economic well being of communities.
