Policy FormationA wealth of information, expertise, and first-hand experience enable CETE staff to provide policymakers with the guidance needed to formulate, analyze, and shape productive policy options. CETEs experts work closely with policymakers, whether in the public policy sector, lifelong education and training, or employers, to examine thoroughly policy consequences and their value and to evolve a rationale for adoption. CETE places a premium on involving stakeholders to ensure sound and effective policy development. Below are some representative projects and publications relating to CETEs Policy Formation. Related Policy Formation ProjectsCoLab is sponsored by the Ohio Learning-Work Connection, is designed to pool the education and business capabilities of communities in a collective strategy for youth. Community youth resource planning teams, with full youth participation, will use the innovative CoLab simulation process to design practical, concrete campaigns to help youth move into rewarding careers and full community participation. Vocational-Technical Education Needs Assessment in the Eastern Carribean Region is a recently completed project that included development and initial delivery of a 3-day workshop on reviewing the economy and labor market to identify training needs and opportunities, including needs assessment within companies. Ohio Labor Market Analysis is a recently completed project that conducted for the Ohio Department of Education, identified nontraditional programs using employment data by occupation and gender, reviewed the Information Technology area, and provided labor market information for use in preparing Integrated Technical and Academic Competencies (ITACs).
